5 Places to Eat Before a Timberwolves Game
As Fan Girls, we know that going to a game is about so much more than just rooting for our home team. We want it to be a whole experience from our game day fits, the friends we go with, to the food and drinks we have. If you’re heading to a Timberwolves game anytime soon, here are our 5 favorite spots to grab some grub before (or after!) the game.
Tom’s Watch Bar
For sports bar vibes
Tom’s Watch Bar is the GO-TO spot if you’re looking for a sports bar. Their motto is "All Sports, All the Time" and we are here for it! What we like about their menu is that you can get the classics like wings, nachos, or burgers but they also have slightly elevated food. We highly recommend their Ahi Tuna Tower or their French Dip if you are looking for something a little higher end than your typical game day snacks. They also have a great cocktail program if you’re not in the beer mood. And as the official watch bar of the Timberwolves, it makes sense to stop by Tom’s before the game!
For laid-back Italian
Red Rabbit is the place to carb up before a game with their incredible pasta dishes and pizzas. We love that Red Rabbit tastes like a 5-star meal without feeling stuffy or that you need to get dressed up to dine there. Their Paloma is a go-to if you want a fancier cocktail and as far as food goes, we’ll have one of everything, please! We are big Fan Girls for their Cavatelli and Garganelli pastas; Mushroom and PB&J Pizzas; and to game-day it up a bit, their wood-grilled wings are to die for!
The Loon Cafe
For walking distance and game-day camaraderie
Around since 1982, The Loon Cafe has been a pre-game staple before any Wolves (or Twins!) game. Being within walking distance to the Target Center, you’ll surely be amongst other fans in their navy and neon green game-day fits headed to the the court. (Maybe you’ll even see a few Fan Girls!) They have great soup selections if you need to warm up and classic game-day apps. Their nachos and walleye fingers are our favorite finger foods!
For dive bar vibes and (arguably) the best wings in the city
For something swankier
If you’re looking to really treat yourself to a nice steak dinner, J.D. Hoyts is a great place to get your fix before a T-Wolves game. A true supper club - with white linens, classic cocktails, and tons of typical steakhouse options. Have yourself a filet and add on fun sides like garlic mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, or Jamaican-seasoned onion rings.
