Best Places To Eat At Before A Minnesota Wild Game

There are many fun places to eat before (or after!) a Minnesota Wild hockey game, depending on your preferences and location. Here are a few of our favorite pregame options!

FOR GAME-DAY CAMARADERIE  + WALKING DISTANCE

Tom Reid's Hockey City Pub - Located in downtown St. Paul, just a few blocks from the Xcel Energy Center, Tom Reid's Hockey City Pub is a popular spot for pre-game drinks and meals. The menu includes classic pub fares like burgers, sandwiches, and appetizers, as well as some Minnesota-inspired dishes like walleye cakes and wild rice soup. This is also a great spot for post-game drinks!
Seventh Street Truck Park - This indoor food truck park and bar is a great stop before and after games! Featured on Man V. Food, Truck Park has a variety of food options like street tacos, pizza, fried chicken, dry-rubbed ribs, and kool-aid cocktails. When the weather is nice, they roll up the massive garage doors and have live music. Make sure you check out their creative bathroom set up too if you have time!

FOR SIT-DOWN EXPERIENCE + WALKING DISTANCE

Parlor - Parlour St. Paul is known for their burgers and boozy milkshakes. They even offer a special game day menu 3 hours before puck-drop for Wild games! We recommend trying their popcorn, bone marrow, or chicken sandwich, but you can’t go wrong with the classic Parlor burger with bacon!
Saint Dinette - Located just a few blocks from the Xcel Energy Center, Saint Dinette is a cozy and stylish restaurant that serves contemporary American cuisine. The menu includes dishes like smoked pork belly, fried chicken, and grilled octopus, as well as a selection of craft cocktails.

FOR LAID-BACK, TRADITIONAL ITALIAN

Cossetta's Italian Market & Pizzeria - If you're looking for Italian food before the game, Cossetta's is a must-visit. Located just a few blocks from the Xcel Energy Center, this family-owned market and restaurant serves up classic Italian dishes like lasagna, spaghetti and meatballs, and pizza. Our favorite is the mostaccioli pasta, but make sure to save room for a cannoli for dessert!

FOR A SIT-DOWN EXPERIENCE A LITTLE FURTHER FROM THE X

Handsome Hog - If you're in the mood for some Southern-style comfort food, Handsome Hog is the place to go. Leave yourself plenty of time before the game to sit and enjoy some great smoked meats and barbecue, including pulled pork, brisket, and ribs. They also have a great selection of whiskey and craft beer but our favorite is their espresso martini! Check out their Instagram here!
