It's the BEST time of the year in Minnesota! Nope, I'm not talking about the weather (even though it really feels like spring is already here!) I'm talking about how other than football - all professional sports are happening right now! That's right, the Twins, Timberwolves, Wild, and Minnesota PWHL are in season!
Here's a breakdown of each team and when/where to catch a game!
Minnesota Twins
The Twins just started spring training out in Florida. Their regular season starts on March 28th with their home opener being April 4th. I know everyone is excited for this season of baseball because the Twins had a great playoff run last season, but we aren't finished yet. Most of your favorite players will be back this season including 3rd baseman Royce Lewis, shortstop Carlos Correa and center fielder Byron Buxton.
If you want to wait until spring training is over, you can go to the home opener for the Twins on April 4th against Cleveland. The home opener game is always a blast so even if you can't make it, maybe try and catch it on TV! :)
Minnesota Wild
The Wild are still going at it and trying to improve their record every game to make the playoffs in mid April. They are in a tough division of hockey, but they are currently only 4 points away from getting the last seed in the playoffs. There is just under 2 months left of regular season hockey so they have plenty of time and opportunities to still advance to the playoffs.
The Wild have a big divisional game against the St. Louis Blues on March 2nd. The Blues are tied with the Wild for points in the division so this is a close one for sure. It's in St. Louis, this Saturday at 5pm so maybe head to your favorite bar or watch in the comfort of your own home, but be sure to keep an eye for this one!
Minnesota Timberwolves
The Wolves are currently holding down the best record in the entire western division. This season is unlike no other for the Wolves. They currently have the third highest 3-point percentage in the league! There is still about a month and a half left of regular season basketball, but if the Wolves keep this up, they should have a very good ranking for the start of playoffs in late April!
If you haven't been to a Timberwolves game before, well than there's no better season to go than now! They have a home game on March 3rd at 2:30 against the LA Clippers are currently fourth in the western division so this should be a great game to go to and it may even be a playoff matchup! ;)
Minnesota PWHL
The Professional Women's hockey league is a brand new league this year! There are currently 6 teams in the league and Minnesota is one of them. They still don't have a team name yet, but that hasn't stopped them from setting attendance records. Back in January, they set a record for the most watched professional women's hockey event ever.
If you want to go watch a game and check out this new league, Minnesota will be playing Boston on March 13th at Excel Energy Center!
